If you are going to grow chicks that will eventually grow into chickens for the purpose of eggs or meat, you must have a chicken coop for them. But let us first start with recognizing how to specifically make a chick coop.

First, study how to make a chick coop. What is your purpose with the coop? Are you going to use it again for the same purpose for future chicks? If you are preparing just to harvest eggs for consumption, have your introductory chick coop made as a temporary and small structure. You will only need to establish a more lasting and permanent structure for your chickens when they are old already to produce eggs.

If the purpose of the chickens is for meat, then you need to reproduce chicks for producing more chickens. When planning to fertilize the eggs with a rooster, your chick coop must be made into a permanent structure to become the home every time you have a batch of chicks.

Another thing you need to know when building a chick coop is the position of your chick coop on your place. Your chick coop should close enough to your household to clean it as frequently as you can. Ascertain that you construct it in a way that the cleaning process is convenient. In relation to the cleaning process, you also need to sustain the cleanliness of your chick coop to prevent the diseases in this very critical stage of the chicken's life. Make it a point that you have a scheme to eliminate the manure and moisture from the chicks away from the chicken coop.

The chick coop should also have a special place for brooding or incubation. This place, as mentioned above, should be very clean. The chick coop should also be maintained warm enough and should have some natural sunlight.

Until they have developed the full feathers, the chicks should be maintained inside the coop. At around six to eight weeks old, they will have developed that full feathers and ready to go outside. At this time, they will require a small run area, a place to put their feeds and water, when they stay outdoors. Require this run area to be under a shade if necessary.

In conclusion, making a chick coop has simple requirements. It is just a common solution to the basic needs of the chicks at this very early stage in their lives. Recognizing these needs will drive you provide solutions in building your chick coop.
